What is Freeze Panes in Excel?

Freeze Panes in Excel When working with large spreadsheets, scrolling up and down (or left and right) can make you lose track of headers or important information. That’s where Freeze Panes comes in. It’s like pinning certain rows or columns so they always stay visible , no matter how much you scroll. Where to Find Freeze Panes Go to the View tab on the Ribbon . Look for the Freeze Panes option in the Window group. Options in Freeze Panes Excel gives you three main options: 1️⃣ Freeze Panes Freezes both rows and columns above and to the left of the selected cell . Example: If you click cell C5 and choose Freeze Panes , rows 1–4 and columns A–B stay locked while you scroll. 2️⃣ Freeze Top Row Keeps only the first row visible as you scroll down. Handy for spreadsheets with column headers. 3️⃣ Freeze First Column Keeps only the first column visible as you scroll sideways. Useful when row labels are in the first column. Example Use Cas...
